A trio of passengers were on hand to save the day after a small child fell between the platform and the train at Wolli Creek station

Thankfully, before the train could move, staff were alerted and three men jumped down to retrieve the child, who had crawled between the carriages and onto the other side of the tracks.

"This would have been an incredibly distressing situation for any parent and we would like to thank our quick-thinking staff and customers for their actions in helping to rescue this young girl," said Sydney Trains Chief Customer Officer Suzanne Holden. The mother is heard saying in the video that the girl had never been on a train before, and that it would be a while before their next one."Incidents such as this serve as an important reminder that the gap between the train and the platform can vary across the network, and our staff are always happy to help if you require assistance."
