Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says former NSW transport minister and Liberal candidate for Gilmore Andrew Constance is not taking the seat’s election result “lying down” – requesting a recount of votes.

Mr Clennell said according to counting – although not officially declared – Labor has won the seat by 373 votes, giving the party 77 seats in the House of Representatives.

“He requested a full recount, which may or may not be granted by the Electoral Commission – normally they look for a 50 or 100 vote margin,” Mr Clennell told Sky News Australia.
