Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly agreed on terms for Ange Postecoglou to become the first Australian manager in the English Premier League.
The 57-year-old recently finished his second season at Celtic in Scotland winning the league in both years on top of a domestic treble this season, but is on the verge of signing a two-year contract with the Spurs,The Spurs have been on the search for a new manager since Antonio Conte left the club in March and Postecoglou was seen as a hot favourite to lead the north London club.
Postecoglou will be the first Australian to manage a side in the EPL when the club officially announces the decision, which is expected to come at some point on Tuesday. Tottenham have also sacked three managers - Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte – since it parted ways with long term boss Mauricio Pochettino in 2019.
Star striker Harry Kane has been linked with Spanish giant Real Madrid after Karim Benzema left Los Blancos.Postecoglou began his managerial career at South Melbourne before spending some years in charge of Australian youth sides.
