The shadow treasurer has lashed the Labor government for its “political finger pointing” over its response to the State of the Environment report.
Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek released the details of the 2021 State of the Environment report on Tuesday and revealed Labor’s policy response and reform agenda as she blasted the former government’s inaction on climate change and biodiversity protection.

Picture: Getty Images Ms Plibersek made the pledge during her National Press Club address on Tuesday in which she said the protection of 30 per cent of the country’s land and water would be “latest chapter in a very proud Labor story”.
The shadow treasurer backed his leader and said passing the target into law would be “creating open slather for activists”.
