Treasurer Jim Chalmers today confirmed “under Labor, the budget deficits will be higher, debt will be larger and the path back to budget repair will be longer,” according to Deputy Opposition Leader Sussan Ley.
“All we’ve heard from Jim Chalmers this morning is … a certain theme of helplessness,” she told Sky News Australia.
“They want to have the confidence that this government has a plan to manage the economy well, to have their back and to address the cost of living pressures that they’re facing.”
