Dr Fauci required security protection for himself and his family from death threats and harassment after former president Donald Trump suggested the pandemic would "fade away", promoted unproven treatment methods and vilified scientists who countered him."It has nothing to do with pressures, nothing to do with all of the other nonsense that you hear about, all the barbs, the slings and the arrows," he said.
Dr Fauci said vaccines needed to be given to people who were at risk of infection, such as those who are taking the HIV prevention therapy PrEP. "We want to get a much broader coverage of vaccine for pre-exposure prophylaxis as well as for post-exposure prophylaxis," he said.
