NSW Police are continuing to conduct inquiries after they were called to a trial rugby match in Sydney's eastern suburbs over COVID-19 concerns.
"At no stage were there any more than 600 people in the ground, including volunteers, staff and players. A concerned local resident, who made the photos public but wished to remain anonymous, said the game seemed more like a"New Year's Eve party" than a rugby match. "Music blaring ... intoxicated patrons packed in shoulder to shoulder. It makes me despair. Are we all in this together? It seems not. I am ashamed of my community," the resident said.
