Kulkarni knows of one woman who, fearing she might become infected with COVID-19 while walking, took to looking down at the ground in order to avoid other people's faces, and in doing so fell and fractured her ankle.But mostly, FOGO is associated with feelings of confusion and overwhelm at the prospect of our social lives coming back to life again.
“I certainly feel there’s more pressure to do it [attend dinner parties],” Miller says. “I feel people will feel offended and think you’re neurotic [if you decline an invitation].”
