Australian shares are poised to open little changed with Wall Street modestly higher to start its week.The local currency slipped 0.2 per cent; the Bloomberg dollar spot index edged 0.2 per cent higher.The yield on the US 10-year note rose 10 basis points to 3.03 per cent at 2.18pm in New York.
Apple announced it would more deeply integrate its software into the instrument cluster on the dashboard of cars that will start shipping next year, while analysts and developers are keenly awaiting any hints about how a future mixed-reality headset might work. The ECB on Thursday is expected to confirm an end to bond buying this month and investors will be looking for clues on monetary policy.Dalian iron ore futures climbed to a 10-month high on Monday, as shrinking stocks of the steelmaking ingredient at Chinese ports added fuel to a rally spurred by optimism around demand in the world’s top steel producer.
Benchmark September iron ore on China’s Dalian Commodity Exchange ended daytime trading 0.7 per cent higher at 925 yuan a tonne, after touching 948 yuan earlier in the session, its loftiest since the first week of August.
