At least five Australians seriously injured in the White Island volcano disaster have now landed back home for specialist care.

Authorities confirmed at least seven more Australian survivors will also be transferred to hospitals over the next 24 hours.

One of those was transferred to the specialist burns unit at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, three to the Concord in Sydney's west, and one to the Sydney Royal North Shore Hospital. At least 10 other Australians remain missing. Image: Facebook/ Karla Mathews
