Police have cited several such incidents, including the case of a father arrested on Thursday over allegations he was behind the wheel of a car that performed the stunt.The trend features coloured smoke produced from burnouts being used to announce the gender of an unborn baby.Police also seized several of his cars, as well as wheels allegedly covered in a substance designed to create coloured smoke.
Sergeant Paul Holtzinger told 7NEWS the behaviour was turning what should be a “magical moment” into something that is “extremely dangerous which could easily lead to a tragedy”.Credit:He suggested people wanting to celebrate the announcement of their baby’s gender “pop a balloon or cut a cake”.More than 150 dangerous cars have been seized across Melbourne in the same timeframe.
