It's an unlikely trio to see click in an NFL locker room and more like the beginning of an obscure football-related joke, but the Aussie defensive lineman, offensive lineman, and punter have established a tight bond already.
"It was incredible to see the perseverance he's had at Philly. He came and learned football six weeks before he was drafted to the Eagles. To see him step up and see him on the field this week, man, I was so proud," Leo said. "That just gave us more of a chip on our shoulder to come out to camp and soak up as much as we could.
Leo said not making the 53-man roster in pre-season was a hard pill to swallow, and though he was able to return to the Eagles practice squad, he is determined to do what he can to earn a call-up and play his first NFL game. Helping Leo develop is an Eagles defensive group which has been extremely generous in mentoring him at practice, as well as retired Pro-Bowler and Philadelphia fan favourite, Connor Barwin, who has been paired with him to provide added guidance.
