Olympian at 19, retired at 20, but Aussie skater Hayley Wilson has made a guest appearance for this competition’s first time in Sydney.

The now 21-year-old skateboarder from Victoria made history at the Tokyo Olympics when she became the first woman to represent Australia in the discipline at an Olympic level, but the event was also a tipping point in her career.

“I lost pretty much all love for it. I’d go to the skate park, and it would be like a chore, and I didn’t want that any more. I wanted to feel like it was when I first started skating.” “I just go to the skate park for fun and learn tricks, and then I go out filming. And it’s really different to contests because contests you have one chance, you have one day where you have to skate your very best,” she said.
