Australians have shined bright at the Commonwealth Games to bring home eight gold medals, with our men and women’s freestyle athletes dominating the podiums.

Ariarne Titmus won gold in the women’s 200 metre freestyle, setting a new Commonwealth Games record, and was joined by Australians Mollie O’Callaghan and Madison Wilson on the podium.

The men’s 400 metre freestyle also brought an all-Australian podium as Elijah Winnington, Sam Short and Mack Horton came in first, second and third. Australia set a new Commonwealth Games record in the men’s team sprint final, also winning the women’s tandem B sprint final and women’s 4000 metre team pursuit.
