The government has announced it will ramp up missile production in Australia following recent aggression from China within the region.

Australia has entered a new “missile age” as the government has announced a substantial increase in missile production following heightened military threats from China .

"Why do we need more missiles? Strategic competition between the United States and China is a primary feature of Australia's security environment," Mr Conroy said. French arms manufacturer Thales has been selected as the “preferred tenderer” to build the domestic forging capability for 155mm Mc795 artillery ammunition.

He said “Labor talks a big game on defence”, but has failed to act decisively to secure Australia’s advanced manufacturing and supply chains.
