The state has recorded 1503 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths.There are 394 people in hospital in the state with the virus, of whom 70 are active cases in intensive care.
On the vaccination front, 93.4 per cent of NSW residents aged 16 and up have received two doses of a coronavirus vaccine and 94.9 per cent have received one dose. At the moment, each state and territory has different rules. Tasmania has among the toughest rules, involving checking in at venues, density limits and masks in all indoor settings,Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Paul Kelly, and his state and territory counterparts have called for masks to be reintroduced in indoor settings to help slow the spread of the virus. This will be among the issues on the agenda today when the Prime Minister meets with state and territory leaders.
