The leader of Indonesian terrorist group Jemaah Islamiah has apologised and is dissolving the group so leaders can work towards world peace.Jemaah Islamiah was the Southeast Asian Islamist militant group based in Indonesia that perpetrated the 2002 Bali bombings. Its leader Para Wijayanto apologised to Australians and the government for his group’s attacks and vowed it would never happen again.
“JI should have been responsible for those events but the Indonesian government, with its kindness, handled everything including providing compensation and restitution. Likewise, the Australian government, where some victims were treated.”Wijayanto added he would like to meet Australian victims and apologise to them directly.“It is human nature: one makes mistakes, evaluates, and improves for the future. We have changed.
