Researchers who released the Australian government's coronavirus modelling have warned that 'if we relax any (social distancing) measures, it will turn into an explosive outbreak'.
It's the first time the government has publicly released the modelling behind their public health policies of self-isolation, mandatory quarantine for people entering Australia, and social distancing.
"No evidence-based model is perfect, we’ll do as good as we can with the numbers… the more data you get, the more accurate you are, we’ll refine it over time” he said.Australia's Chief Medical Officer Dr Brendan Murphy and Prime Minister Scott Morrison presented the modelling on Tuesday.Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy said modellers were looking at Australia’s 5,908 cases to build up an idea of how far it will spread, and how long measures will have to stay in place.
"We don’t know if and when a vaccine will come with this virus. If it does, that’s a beautiful way out."
