Elsewhere in Australia, rainfall is likely to be more typical for the season, with no strong signal towards above or below average rainfall. The Bureau’s Senior Climatologist Stephanie Jacobs on Thursday said Australia’s far north may have drier conditions this winter, with typically low rainfall. “This follows an autumn that was warmer than usual for most parts of Australia and brought very dry conditions to the far south of the country and south-west Western Australia,” the BOM report said.
