The Australian couple allegedly murdered in the Philippines have been identified as James Fisk, 57, his wife Lucita Barquin Cortez, 55, amid a manhunt for their killer. They were discovered alongside Ms Cortez’s daughter-in-law Mary Jane Cortez, 30, from Oriental Mindoro. Their bodies were found with their hands and feet tied in a room at the Lake Hotel in Tagaytay, a popular resort city south of the nation’s capital.
“Some of the victims’ valuables like their mobile phones were not taken. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has told me they are providing consular assistance to the families of the two Australians as the hunt for their killer continues.” Investigators were interviewing witnesses and examining security cameras at the hotel. Tagaytay police chief Charles Daven Capagcuan told the Associated Press the motive for the killings was not known.
