Australian actor Hugh Sheridan has been caught up in the weekend’s multi-front attack on Israel by Palestinian militant group Hamas. The 38-year-old Packed to the Rafters star was on holiday in Tel Aviv when the country was targeted by missile strikes and fighter incursions from the Gaza Strip— a move which Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has labelled “abhorrent”.
Anthony Albanese speaks on Sunrise following the Hamas attack on Israel. At least 700 people, including children, have been killed, Israeli media reported. Israel has not released an official toll and Australia’s Foreign Affairs Department is working to confirm the welfare of Australian citizens in Israel. “A few hours ago everyone was living life completely normal in Israel,” Sheridan wrote in an Instagram post from Tel Aviv on Sunday.
