On Tuesday, Kate Marshall from the Health Services Union told the committee the extra leave would help "destigmatise" menopause and better support affected women from leaving the workforce. She said this amounts to an economic loss of $112.2 billion which would be triggered by a normal biological process that affects every woman to some degree.and Victorian governments announced public service workers would be entitled to 10 days of paid reproductive leave for treatment for menopause, endometriosis, IVF, and other reproductive health issues.Finance industry worker Rina Abbott-Jard's has had a challenging experience with menopause.
But Ms Abbott-Jard, a member of the Finance Sector Union, said she was "lucky" to have a supportive employer that allowed her to shift to flexible work, and have time off for doctor's appointments."Getting through menopause with a sense of dignity is really important for us and I don't think that every woman has had that opportunity."
