Australia's energy regulator just told the Senate that they can not guarantee that Labor's renewable energy plans will lower power prices. "We're not walking away from our commitment to get more renewables into the system and, yes, they are the cheapest form of energy available, the cheapest form of energy that's ever been available," Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen told the ABC in July last year.The Albanese government has consistently pushed the notion of lower power prices under its renewables plan.
The government's plan is to have 82 per cent renewables by 2030, with a planned emissions cut of 43 per cent that year, followed by net zero emissions in 2050.
