Axed Aussie swim star reveals heartbreaking reason he was banned from Commonwealth Games

Banned swim star Isaac Cooper has released a public statement following his sensational axing from Australia’s Commonwealth Games team on Wednesday. B2022 7NEWS

“He has acknowledged his mistakes and accepted the consequences,” Swimming Australia’s statement went on to say.“My misuse of medication was not banned substances,” he wrote.

“I am grateful to Swimming Australia for helping to identify an issue and offering their support and resources to help me.”While Swimming Australia emphatically denied the “medication” was a repeat of the 2012 Stilnox saga, questions are yet to be answered on what exactly Cooper took. “There are always two sides to a story and I shall continue to work positively and confidentially with Swimming Australia,” he said.
