The esky has a thermometer to check the temperature and is filled with dirt, leaf litter and soft towels, making it a safe and cosy temporary home for the echidna.Harrison Vincent/Taronga Zoo A full health assessment, including a vet check and x-rays, found Weja was relatively healthy, with just a few scabs on its tail."I feel incredibly lucky and privileged to be hand-raising this short-beaked echidna," Ms McConnell said.The Australian Reptile Park is caring for a orphaned baby wombat which was handed in to staff after its mother was killed.
