Back-to-back cold fronts launch ‘epic’ snow season | ameliamcguiree
After the wettest autumn on record in NSW, the first day of winter has delivered another dumping of snow across parts of the state, prompting ski resorts in the Snowy Mountains to launch the season early.
It will be replaced by a warmer front that should bring some calmer weather before it is quickly followed by another intense cold front this weekend. “Two strong cold fronts with just a week apart at the beginning of winter is pretty uncommon,” he said after stating that NSW ski resorts usually had to begin the season by making their own snow.“The good thing about the chill is that it’s going to be a cracking ski season. The back-to-back weather systems mean it’ll be epic for those going in what’s normally a risky time to ski.”
