Ronald Butler is charged with endangering the welfare of children and obstruction in child abuse cases.
A Lycoming County deputy sheriff escorts Ronald Butler from the courthouse after he was held for court on charges related to the starvation deaths of two young girls whose bodies were found last November near Williamsport.WILLIAMSPORT – Bail and the rating of two felony charges have been reduced for one of the four individuals accused in the starvation deaths of two Lycoming County young girls.
He also may not contact the witnesses or co-defendants in the case including his wife Michele and daughter Echo, both of whom are incarcerated without bail in the case. Defense attorney Matthew A. Diemer argued $200,000 was excessive and Butler was not a danger to the community or a threat to flee. He had a full-time job before his arrest, he said.
Diemer claims Butler was unaware of it but Wade said that is unlikely because it occurred in the trailer home along Livermore Road north of Williamsport where he, his wife, daughter and the girls’ mother Marie Sue Snyder lived. Michele Butler, whose charges include third-degree murder, is accused of knowing the girls were being starved and abused and did nothing to stop it, providing false information to a Children and Youth caseworker and concealing their deaths.her daughters endured until their deaths.
