Conor, Kevin, Neil, and James say The Banshee 'looks and feels like a bar you'd find in Belfast or Dublin city centre'
Three Irishmen who opened an Irish pub in downtown Buffalo, New York say "the reviews speak for themselves" after customers described it as "the best experience they've had outside of Ireland".
"I managed D'Arcy's for two decades so when it was closing, the owner suggested I take it over and turn it into an Irish bar," Belfast man Conor explained to IrishStar.com. "I thought, Jesus, that sounds wonderful, but it's a lot of time and effort. Conor first ventured to Buffalo in the summer of 2001 to play Gaelic football and visit his sister and brother-in-law, who was from the city. There, he met D'Arcy's owner who was keen to have an Irishman behind the bar.
"We're now giving other Irish people a shot at coming over. We have a young girl from Co Clare called Grace Duffy behind the bar at the moment. She's recently graduated from Queen's University in Belfast and is on a J1. "We pride ourselves in Irish cuisine so we offer an Irish-inspired menu including a full Irish breakfast and an Ulster fry as well as soda bread, Tayto chips, and HP sauce," Conor, who regularly goes back and forth to Belfast, enthused.
The Banshee has been enjoyed and lauded by a number of famous faces over the years, whose image has gone straight up onto the pub's Irish Music Wall, alongside legends who the Irishmen hope to attract in the near future. "Cillian Murphy was in Buffalo not too long ago filming A Quiet Place Part II so it would've been great to have him in for a pint, as well as the likes of Glen Hansard. We also hosted the afterparty for Riverdance's 25th-anniversary tour."
