A Belfast family has been left homeless after a fire in their kitchen
The fire, which is being treated as "accidental ignition" and thought to have started at the cooker, happened on Tuesday. The occupants, a mother and her three young children, were not at home at the time, and had only moved into the property in the last few months.
"The fire service said they only would have had two minutes to get out of the house. It was workmen who heard the fire alarm and seen the smoke and then rang the fire brigade. A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said they received a call on Tuesday April 24 at 10.35am.
