But after Sunday’s 24-22 win over Wests Tigers, Hunt insisted there was only one place he wanted to play.“I’ll just wait until the season’s over and I’ve only got one more week.Hunt will be 34 when the 2024 season comes around but has looked worth every cent of his $1.2 million contract.Credit:The Dragons insist their offers have been commensurate with his worth, although the knock-on effect of Hunt staying may result in highly rated playmaker Jayden Sullivan leaving the club.
Sullivan, 20, played hooker against the Tigers and there is a school of thought that he and Hunt may be best suited to switch roles in 2023. Hunt has only played in the finals once during his five-year Dragons stay and there have been reports that he wants clarity over the future of coach Anthony Griffin before making a decision.
