Forensic examinations are underway to formally identify the man's body, after Darryn Kimlin went missing on a solo fishing trip in the same river.
Emergency services were called the Mary River on Tuesday morning after reports a body was in the water. Police have found the body of a man in the last-known location of missing Maryborough fisherman Darryn Kimlin .
Officers were called to the Beaver Rock boat ramp on the Mary River at about 6:15am after reports a man had been found in the water.Mr Kimlin's boat was found on a sandbar near Beaver Rock, where he was last in contact with friends on Saturday evening.Polair, Marine Rescue Queensland, State Emergency Services and local community members using their private boats were involved in the search for him.
His boat was found in the early hours of Monday morning on a sandbar near Beaver Rock, about 12km from the mouth of the Mary River. After departing from a Maryborough boat ramp about 10am on Saturday, Mr Kimlin contacted friends about 8:40pm indicating he was fishing at Beaver Rock.
