At least 19 people have died at the popular tourist site in Far North Queensland since 1959.

The 19-year-old fell into the water at Babinda Boulders, an hour south of Cairns, at about 2.45pm on Monday.Police, including the dive squad, and QFES water crews and SES personnel commenced a search for the girl.The body of the 19-year-old was found in the water at about 8am on Tuesday.

“Police are liaising with the woman’s family and our thoughts are with them at this time,” a statement read.The notorious swimming spot has a deadly reputation, with at least 19 lives lost in the fast-flowing water, also named Devil’s Pool, since 1959.Stream the latest news with Flash.
