Andrew Bolt has questioned what Prime Minister Anthony Albanese actually achieved in his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, arguing he was “played like a fiddle” by China during his visit to the country.
“All that Xi seems to have wanted was to show the world it can treat Australia like dirt for seven years ... and we’ll still come rushing to Beijing when summoned,” Mr Bolt said.
“But at least Albanese had not caved into China in the meantime, just like the previous Turnbull and Morrison governments didn’t either … but that’s about as far as this goes.” “They seem to be quite frightened to use the word terrorists and yes they should be using it,” Ms Elsworth told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.“These taxpayer-funded organisations seem pretty reluctant to use the word and it seems quite ridiculous, really.”
“There was an air of unreality about this whole thing, the pandas, Kung-Fu pandas, Tasmanian devil, and all about deepening trade and growing trade when, as you said, the rest of the world is trying to reverse quietly out of room with the Chinese economy,” he said to Sky News Australia host Andrew Bolt.
