He is now heading overseas to pursue other investments in the sector for 777. A spokesman said Mr Howell would now shift to “further early-stage aviation innovation projects within the 777 Partners portfolio”. The spokesman said: “777 Partners is deeply thankful to Rick for his important contribution to the successful launch of Bonza and looks forward to continuing to work with him on global aviation projects. He has played a key role in laying the foundation for Bonza’s successful operation in Australia.”
“Whilst it was registered VH-UDV, we never took delivery of that specific aircraft and this doesn’t impact any of Bonza’s plans. It’s not uncommon for this to happen as part of fleet planning,” the spokeswoman said.Bonza operates four aircraft and has a fifth on order. A situation similar to Flair is highly unlikely, as the Australian carrier leases all of its aircraft from owner 777 Partners.
