In a tumultuous day at Parliament, Housing Minister Michael Gove has reportedly led a delegation to tell Boris Johnson his time is up as 11 more British lawmakers quit their posts.

Gove torpedoed Johnson’s leadership bid in 2016, before he agreed to work in his government when Johnson became prime minister in 2019.
It triggered a wave of resignations from other MPs who were furious at Johnson after a string of scandals that included the promotion of MP Chris Pincher, who resigned as deputy chief whip last week following newspaper allegations he had groped two men, and illegal parties at Downing Street during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The latest blow came when five junior ministers resigned en masse late on Wednesday AEST, signing a letter demanding Johnson step aside “for the good of the party and the country”. Overall, it was a muted performance for a prime minister who has seen his political fortunes tumble from a landslide election victory in 2019 to now, when the resignation of his finance and health ministers opened the floodgates for more junior ministers to quit.
