The “miserable threats” of a second Brexit referendum have been put to bed by UK voters who re-elected the Conservative Party in a historic general election, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has declared, ahead of an “irrefutable” departure from the EU.
Speaking in London, Mr Johnson said completing Brexit is now an “irrefutable, irresistible, unarguable decision of the British people”.
“I have a message to all those who voted for us yesterday, especially those who voted for us one-nation conservatives for the first time: you may have only lent us your vote, you may not think of yourself as a natural Tory. “You may intend to return to Labour next time around, and if that is the case, I am humbled that you have put your trust in me.” Mr Johnson plans to deliver Brexit on January 31.
