Qantas has apologised to a Brisbane man after failing to issue him a refund following his cancer diagnosis and urgent treatment because it allegedly did not fall under “compassionate reasons”.
A Brisbane man has spoken out after Qantas failed to issue a refund following his sudden cancer diagnosis because it allegedly did not count under"compassionate reasons". Neil Ross, from Brisbane , had originally booked a flight to Tasmania pre-COVID through Flight Centre in Browns Plains, Queensland.

Mr Ross said he sent two medical certificates, including a more detailed version from Princess Alexandra Hospital, which “did not meet requirements on compassion”. “They have advised that ‘the attached medical certificate does not fit into the QF guidelines for a refund due to compassionate reasons’," it said.A Qantas spokesperson told SkyNews.com.au the airline has apologised to Mr Ross for the experience and processed a refund.
