Yesterday’s state budget stripped $20 million from a program meant to improve accessibility at train stations across south-east Queensland.The government’s updated transport and roads investment plan no longer includes the Station Precinct Infrastructure Program, which was added in only the previous budget.
“The Station Precinct Infrastructure Program was established to support delivery of various minor infrastructure improvements to train station precincts including cycling and walking provisions, way-finding and signage, accessibility improvements and bus interchange infrastructure,” the Department of Transport and Main Roads told Brisbane Times in a statement.
