Queensland Opposition Leader David Crisafulli has rubbished suggestions he will “roll over” on nuclear power and be convinced to support the federal Coalition’s plans to build two reactors in Queensland.Crisafulli held a media conference on the Gold Coast yesterday, where he was asked to comment on suggestions he would “roll over” if elected and repeal Queensland’s nuclear ban.“Only Labor would say that,” he said.
”Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton unveiled plans last week to build seven nuclear reactors around the country, including two in the Sunshine State.Federal Nationals leader David Littleproud said he and Dutton would “expect” Queensland’s next premier to fall into line if the Coalition was returned to power.The announcement and Littleproud’s comment has thrown an unwanted distraction in Crisafulli’s own state election campaign.
