Ryan Gosling is taking on a long-distance challenge to raise money for a Bristol children's charity.

Shayna and Ryan Gosling called the charity a "second family" following the support they received when their daughter fell ill

A father is running 240 miles to raise money for a children's charity which supported his family when his daughter was being treated in hospital. He is taking on the challenge for Ronald McDonald House after it provided free accommodation while his daughter Indie was in hospital at five-days-old.Indie was admitted to Bristol Royal Infirmary in October 2022 after being diagnosed with hyperglycaemia.

Ronald McDonald House provided 'home away from home' accommodation at the nearby Bristol House, allowing the parents to stay close to their daughter during her three weeks in hospital. The charity supported the family through Indie's recovery and the housing saved them hundreds of pounds in travel and hotel costs.

Mr Gosling, an Army commando, has taken on the long-distance run to give back to the charity and help Ronald McDonald House continue its work across the country. He began his run on 8 October - the first anniversary of his daughter being admitted into hospital - and he has currently raised £6,600"Ronald McDonald Houses are everywhere, and people need to know they can turn to them for help," added Mr Gosling.'I'm totally helpless' - husband of new mother missing after Hamas attacks
