British student who studied Ukraine says UK won't accept qualifications by S_Fleary1
A BLACK British student who studied medicine in Ukraine says she is considering quitting becoming a doctor as the United Kingdom will not accept her qualifications.
“So I came to a realisation that I have to be ok with never becoming a doctor, disassociate those feelings from how I view myself, because honestly I felt like a failure, like somehow this was my fault.” According to the GMC’s website, a medical school is only placed on the list once a full investigation has been carried and concluded that it is the most appropriate course of action.
Ms Sky said when she began her studies abroad – as it was a private university – it was all facilitated by an agent who acts as a “middle man” communicating between the overseas students and the institution. But as the war in Ukraine continued, she says students did not hear anything more about the status of their studies.
Ms Sky stated as the universities are private and require international students to pay fees, this is the motivation behind Ukrainian universities urging students to return to sit their final exams.
