The sculpture, which adorned the restaurant for over 25 years, was the most valuable Australian work offered for auction, fetching $1 million or $1.25 million with buyer’s premium. This broke Oliver’s previous sales record of $700,000 set in April 2023, and was estimated to fetch between $1 million and $1.5 million.
The piece, a copper sculpture measuring 4 meters, was a prominent feature of the restaurant and inspired its logo
