The Blues have taken a risk on Mitchell, with the superstar unlikely to join full training in Blues camp until Sunday, three days out from the game. Mitchell was put through his paces for a fitness test during the long weekend, with Cameron Murray also picked under an injury cloud after being assessed by the Blues medical staff.
Hynes was clearly the biggest loser in the reshuffle, with reigning Dally M Medallist axed after just 12 minutes on the field in a foreign position.According to reports that emerged after Origin I, the Blues brains trust was prepared to let Hynes sit on the bench for the full 80 minutes but he was forced onto the field for the frantic finale at right centre after Tom Trbojevic was forced off by a head knock.
The Cowboys hooker is a big body capable of playing as a ball-running middle if required but will also allow starting hooker Cook to have a spell either side of half-time, keeping him fresh to attack from dummy-half when fatigue causes the game to open up.
