Bushfire smoke lingers over Sydney for fourth day as fires burn across NSW | TheMattBungard jennynoise

About 8am, the Rural Fire Service said there are 120 bush and grass fires burning in NSW, 50 of which are yet to be contained. A spokesman for the RFS said building assessment crews are now in the process of confirming any loss of property, with reports of up to three structures destroyed west of the Princes Highway.
The Princes Highway remains partially closed between Burrill Lake and the Kings Highway turn-off after the fire jumped across the road. Crews will work to remove dangerous trees from the highway on Wednesday. In the Blue Mountains, crews are continuing to fight the Ruined Castle fire, which has been contained near Pitts Amphitheatre, in the western end of Jamison Valley near the Three Sisters. The RFS said it's a very remote and rugged area, making firefighting efforts more difficult."It's still warm and windy and will remain that way. The main thing we need is rainfall but there's none of that on the horizon.
