A fast-moving bushfire in Perth's east has burnt through 560 hectares, destroying sheds, water tanks and possibly a house. Fire crews are battling the blaze, with one firefighter suffering minor burns. While the fire has come close to Acacia Prison, authorities say it is currently safe. Warnings have been downgraded but a watch and act remains in place.

There were unconfirmed reports of one house already being lost in the blaze, which has already burnt through about 560 hectares.

One firefighter was injured battling the blaze, suffering minor burns to his arm, as about 150 crews tackled the fire from the ground and the air. "We're very confident the prison is defendable and safe at the moment," Murray McBride from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said.As the wind has subsided, fire warnings have been downgraded with a watch and act still in place with a threat to live and homes still possible.
