Labor MP and former commando Luke Gosling says a royal commission into veterans’ suicide is needed as “we haven’t got all the answers”.

Speaking to Sky News Mr Gosling said recent inquiries delivered some recommendations but the approach was not holistic. “They haven’t looked at the whole continuum of veterans care from when they sign up, through their service, and through that important phase as they transition back to society,” he said. “It’s a responsibility of us as parliamentarians to set the right policy frameworks for our nation but when you’ve got failed policy, it behoves us to do everything that is required.
