Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the federal government has done the bulk of the heavy lifting during the pandemic.
aimed at helping smaller enterprises facing a significant drop in turnover in January.
However, Mr Frydenberg told the ABC on Monday morning that South Australia had successfully delivered a small business support package over the past week without coming to the federal government for assistance and NSW could not ask the federal government to jointly fund every program. The South Australian business support package is worth $50 million and includes a range of supports including grants for those who had a drop in turnover of 50 per cent or more in January.
“That’s gone to more than 200,000 people in NSW, and the Commonwealth picked up 100 per cent of that bill,” he said.
