Canberra is entering lockdown, here's what you can and can't do for the next seven days.
ACT Health has begun contact tracing and calling people that have visited exposure sites.get tested immediately and isolate."Do not turn up to get tested because you're anxious," ACT Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said.
"If you have no symptoms and you haven't been asked to be tested by ACT Health and you haven't been in any of those identified exposure locations, staying at home is the best thing that you can do to protect yourself and your community.Within hours of the lockdown being announced, Flemington Road in Canberra's north had to be closed due to a surge in demand for testing at the EPIC drive-through clinic.
Photos began being posted to social media showing panic buying at a Canberra Woolworths less than an hour after a seven-day lockdown was announced.If people keep pulling everything off the shelves in a blind panic, the answer is still no.There is absolutely no need to panic buy — not now, not ever. "Supermarkets will remain open and that grocery shopping will continue to be allowed during this seven-day lockdown," Ms Stephen-Smith says.
"There is no need for panic buying.
