A Canberra woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted after a work Christmas party tells the court she felt embarrassed and like an idiot for offering a drunk colleague a lift home so he'd be safe.

The court heard the woman offered her colleague a lift home because he was so drunk he seemed not to know how to catch the light rail, or how to find it.A Canberra man is accused of sexually assaulting a colleague who drove him home from a work Christmas party because she was concerned he was too drunk to get home safely.

The woman said she gave an undertaking to her boss that she would make sure everyone got home safely, when he left the party early. She told the jury when they got in the car, on the drive home, she was having difficulty getting directions to his house.
