CANCER has many known causes but very rarely is the disease traced back to supplements. According to one body of research, however, a herbal remedy that has historically been used in weight loss supplements could be as cancerous as cigarette smoke.

According to the University of Oxford, the ingredient has found “multifarious uses in traditional medicinal systems.”According to the health platform RXlist, birthwort can prevent seizures, increase sexual desire, boost the immune system and start menstruation.
